Friends first

Some journeys
bring you home.

We are a group of friends brought together by a deep love of forests, wildlife and time spent outdoors. Over years of travelling across India and Africa, we found ourselves drawn to camps where the welcome felt personal and the landscape was part of everyday life.

Those journeys shaped what we wanted Bagh Tola to feel like: an intimate camp with its own character, where you could settle in easily, share a meal and feel at home. A place we would love to return to ourselves, and one we could welcome you into.

A personal welcome

Make yourself
at home.

We run Bagh Tola in that same spirit of friendship. We want you to feel the warmth of a home away from home: a familiar face after a morning in the forest, an unhurried conversation, a table where there is always another story to tell.

Our travels have found their way into the camp’s details and atmosphere, but its heart belongs here. The food, the people, the trees and the easy rhythm of the day give Bagh Tola its own sense of place.

Why this place

Close to the forest.
Room to stay wild.

What first drew us to Bagh Tola was its closeness to the forest. There was space here: a large property with the possibility of keeping much of it open. We chose a small built footprint deliberately, leaving room between the tents and room for nature around them.

The land was once fields. Since then, we have rewilded it, allowing the landscape to become part of the camp’s story again. Those open spaces matter to us as much as the rooms. They are part of what you come here to experience.

Our way of guiding

Stay a little longer.
See a little more.

We love the thrill of seeing a tiger. But we do not want a drive to become a chase from one reported sighting to the next. Our approach is to slow down, watch patiently and give an encounter time to unfold.

We seek quieter, more intimate viewing wherever conditions allow, with respect for the animal’s space. A bird calling from the canopy, tracks on a forest road, the changing light or the behaviour of a herd can hold our attention too.

For us, guiding is about helping you absorb the forest and feel part of it. The most memorable moments often come when you stop looking for the next thing and spend time with what is already around you.
